A unique architecture to enjoy a magic space

A magical space

Our restaurant is located in Madrid’s oldest winery. After an extraordinary restoration keeping all original elements, it has become a magical space. The cellars, where the wine aged, create a unique feeling of privacy.
The first gallery was built at the beginning of the 17th century. It was created to maintain the perfect temperature and conditions to age the wine. Monks of the San Felipe Neri order expanded the Winery with 3 additional galleries including cellars, domes and arches.
This small labyrinth of galleries and caves, which has been hidden for more than 400 years, now becomes the perfect setting to enjoy an unforgettable meal.
It is a magical space ideal for “Carpe Diem” – > “Enjoy the moment”

Meal plenty of flavor

Our modern Mediterranean cuisine is full of contrasts and flavors.
At “Bodega de los Secretos”, taste is the most important ingredient. To select products from the market as tasty as the “bluefin tuna”, with which we prepare the “Bluefin tuna Tataki with sesame and mango”, or ” Grilled octopus with pepper oil and foamed potato “, meats so tasty as “Beef sirloin with vegetables and moixernons” or “Oxtail” paired with a red grenache sauce.
Our menu is alive, we review it each day to bring the best products of the season.

Some secrets…

Our space is a small architectural jewel more than 400 years old. For months we carried out a careful restoration. The most important thing was to preserve the original space. More than eight km of brick joints have been treated, bonded and sealed.
In the 17TH century, the winery was at the border of Madrid. At that time, to trade goods in the city, merchants had to pay a tax at the main entrance of the city. During the restoration of the winery we discovered three underground passageways, two of them communicated with the outskirts of the city and most probably were used to introduce goods in town, and avoid the payment of taxes.
Bayonets from the time of the Napoleon’ war and weapons from the Spanish Civil War were discovered while cleaning one of our passageways, suggesting they were used to escape from the troops in times of war.
Other secrets you will find in our space include:
• The footprint of a barred door …
• Nails from Christ …
• Masonic symbols…
• Miguel de Cervantes …
• …
We invite you to come and discover these secrets and help us learn more about them.
